Im really careful with the cords, so my best guess is that this was a manufacturing defect. I saw this design and it was listed as a sport sandal, so I thought it would be sturdy like the typical velcro strap over the foot and around the ankle designs of their sport sandals. peplum shacket I purchased 2 sets.
